Brad Hoopes interviews Kenton Wagner on October 28, 2006.
On October 28, 2006, Kenton Wagner sat down and told the story of his military career. He had a combined 36 years of service to our country and served in three wars! His service began at age 16 when he enrolled in the Colorado National Guard. He then enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 6, 1941 and served with the 304th Fighter Squadron during World War II. After the war, he returned to the Guard and his unit was called up in 1950 at the outbreak of the Korean War. After the armistice was signed and his unit returned home, he elected to remain in the army and make it his career. He would go on to serve two tours of duty in Vietnam. He and Mary Ellen (married for 65 years at the time of this taping), although moving 20+ times during his career, both agreed it has been a wonderful life.
