Charles Smoot: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On August 2, 2013 Charles Smoot sat down at his home in Loveland, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Charles, born and raised in Hannibal, MO, served in the Army Air Corps. He was in training when the war ended and then went to the ETO as part of the occupation forces. Charles served in operations with the Air Transport Command at a base outside of London and then in Bremen, Germany. After his service was up, he returned home to his lovely wife Mary and would go on to have a 40 year career as a Baptist Minister.
