George Lane: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On December 4, 2006 George Lane sat down at his home in Fort Collins, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. George served in the Army Air Corps, 14th Air Force (the Flying Tigers), 360th. He was a pilot in a B-24 serving in the CBI theater of operations, stationed in China. He and his crew primarily bombed Japanese shipping routes and coastal cities using a new radar bombing technology. Once he completed his required number of missions, he returned to the States to his wife and baby daughter, who was born while he was overseas. George went on to have a long and great career in education.
