Julius Carlson: his experiences in World War II, as told in his own words
On March 20, 2010 Julius Carlson sat down at his home in Ft. Collins, CO and told of his experiences in World War II. Julius, born and raised in Denver, served in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the Cor Caroli (AK-91). The Cor Caroli, a cargo ship, sailed throughout the south Pacific delivering supplies to our forces during and after the various island invasions. Julius was aboard ship for a year and a half before being transferred back to the states for training. After the Japanese surrendered, Julius again went to sea.
