The Historic Traveling Diaries and Guestbooks Collection consists of seventeen diaries, guestbooks, and memoirs of people who lived and traveled in the U. S. West, specifically in the Fort Collins, Colorado, area between 1841 and circa 1995. John Ayres’ diaries are the exception, covering the life of a planter in Kentucky and Missouri from 1841 to 1891. Diaries by Amelia Buss, William Early, and Lydia Wathen illustrate the lives of those who moved to Northern Colorado in the last half of the 19th century. Guestbooks from the Evergreens cabin illuminate tourism and leisure in Poudre Canyon in the early 20th century. This digital collection contains the seventeen items found in the archival collection.
