Exploration and production geologist Howard G. Coopersmith was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1953. He conducted research related to the international diamond industry and provided the impetus for the development of the Kelsey Lake Diamond Mine near the Colorado-Wyoming border. The archival collection includes Coopersmith’s reference materials, project files, published and unpublished papers, maps, photographs, and electronic files. This digital collection features a scrapbook covering events starting around 1954 to 1998. It includes photographs of Coopersmith’s childhood, his early married life, and his involvement with diamond prospecting and the Kelsey Lake Diamond Mine.
